Do I Need to Be Catholic to Attend Ave Maria University?

Thank you for your interest in Ave Maria University. Students are not required to be Catholic to attend. However, students are required to take three theology courses taught in light of the Catholic faith throughout their time here. If a student is open to this experience, we are happy to proceed in the admissions process.

The majority of our students as well as our faculty members are Catholic. In addition to having a campus ministry, we have numerous faith opportunities including households (faith-based groups that are an alternative to sororities and fraternities) and the Mother Teresa Project (a program of study and service that honors Mother Teresa). Also available are retreats throughout the year, nine daily Mass times, a perpetual adoration chapel, and various faith clubs.
