Does AMU have student employment?

Ave Maria University works to accommodate all our students' needs and goals. One of the ways we do this is through our student employment programs, which allow students to earn a portion of their educational expenses while gaining experience in various fields. Federal Work Study

The Federal Work-Study (FWS) program is designed to help students who show financial need to earn a portion of their educational expenses through meaningful employment on campus. Work study is paid directly to the student via direct deposit.

Florida Work Experience

The Florida Work Experience Program (FWEP) is a need-based program providing eligible Florida students with work experiences to complement and reinforce their educational and career goals. FWEP is paid directly to the student via direct deposit.

Institutional Work Study

Students who do not qualify for FWS or FWEP still have opportunities to find employment with various campus departments and laboratories which have funding to hire students as part-time employees. You should inquire through the campus departments about any available openings.

As a student employee, students may work up to 15 hours per week as underclassmen and up to 20 hours per week as upperclassmen, earning at least the Florida minimum wage. This assistance is not offered up front as part of a financial aid package. The Financial Aid Office will offer FWS or FWEP when the student obtains a job on campus. Students receive a paycheck via direct deposit once per month during the academic year and bi-weekly in the summer.

Incoming students receive access to Handshake, a student job board, when they arrive on campus.
