At AMU, the student-led clubs and organizations bring life and diversity to campus. They reflect students' interests and passions, and help to more closely knit the Ave community.
We're so excited you feel called to start a club, and can't wait to help you in all the ways we can!
There are four main steps for starting a club at AMU:
- While not necessary, it’s highly advised to schedule a meeting with Hannah Baalman, AMU's club coordinator, so she can speak with you about how clubs work and the club approval process as a whole.
You can contact her via email at hannah.r.baalman@avemaria.edu to schedule a meeting time with her. - Make sure you fulfill the five first requirements for starting a club:
- Have at least five members interested in beginning the club
- Draw up a constitution to be submitted to the Director of Student Life for review.
- Have a full-time AMU faculty or staff member as its advisor.
- Have at least three elected or appointed student officers who coordinate the operations of the specific organization.
- Have a mission that aligns fully with the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Once these steps are completed, the student will register the club for the current academic year.
- Lastly, the club will submit a budget proposal to Hannah Baalman to be utilized for executing and planning events.
